Seattle Chocolate Tours – Tour De Haut Chocolate
DATES: Every Wednesday and Thursday, depending on ticket sales
TIMES: Starts at 4:00 PM sharp and is over by 6:30PM
PRICE: $39 per person; $199 for private groups up to 10 people
For those of us who study the history of chocolate, we’ve always known that chocolate was only a drink for thousands of years. The Aztecs and Olmecs enjoyed this wonderful drink and all of its pleasures and benefits … never realizing that it could be made into a solid food! So it’s perfectly appropriate that the Chocolate Box team has created an Experience that revolves around America’s favorite drink for all ages! Simply Seattle is proud to offer one of our most exciting Seattle chocolate tours, Tour De Haut Chocolate.
Your hot chocolate tribute starts at Chocolate Box with your first taste of our world-famous European Sipping Chocolate. While you enjoy your liquid treat, we’ll give you a brief history of chocolate and help you understand where it’s from and how it’s made. Your “chocolate snob” training has begun!
We next transport you in our luxury van (a feature of all our Seattle chocolate tours) for a brief and scenic ride to Ballard and the home of Chocolat Vitale, the makers of the hot chocolate that has made Chocolate Box a “must” destination for this liquid treat. The Chocolat Vitale chefs will create a unique hot chocolate recipe for your enjoyment and explain their approach to making great hot drinks.
Now you’ll be transported to Queen Anne and the renowned Chocolopolis, where you will sample Chocolopolis’ Signature Dark and Peanut Butter drinking chocolates. Meanwhile, a Chocolopolis Chocophile will provide an introduction to single-origin chocolate.
Yum! After some sampling of Chocolopolis’ renowned drinking chocolate, it’s back into your van for another scenic drive back downtown to the flagship store of Fran’s Chocolates.
At Fran’s you’ll be indulged with a taste of her own award-winning 65% Venezuelan Dark Drinking Chocolate, recently voted the best hot chocolate drink in America by the gourmet food industry! The Fran’s staff will also explain the Fran’s Chocolates history, and allow you to taste her famous salted caramels … the same caramels that the White House gives to all important visitors. Wow!
You’re not done! Our Seattle chocolate tours conclude with a return to Chocolate Box for one last treat: a sampling of our popular chocolate wines, a perfect ending to an Experience that’s focused on liquid chocolate. Not 21? We’ll end your tour with another recipe of hot chocolate that will make you smile.
